2013 was a fantastic year for Cricket in Brazil and the great work done by only a handful of volunteers and people with low salaries was carried out by the International Cricket Council (ICC – the body that governs international cricket). With two awards obtained in the same year, everyone involved, whether an organizer, coach, player or parent, can be legitimately proud of their achievements. Below is a copy of the letter that was proudly received by the president of ABC, the most respected Mr. Norman Baldwin.

The letter was translated from English to Portuguese by Roberta Avery “March 6, 2014

Mr. Norman Baldwin
President
Brazilian Cricket Association

Dear Norman,

It is a pleasure to offer our sincere congratulations to the Brazilian Cricket Association in winning the Regional Development Program of the Americas Award for the Best Cricket Initiative for Women and Photo of the Year .

The ICC Pepsi Development Program established these awards twelve years ago to recognize groups and individuals who have made significant contributions to the development of Cricket. This award by the International Cricket Council (ICC) recognizes your Federation’s exceptional contribution to the growth of Cricket as a global sport.

The Brazilian Cricket Association can certainly be proud of this achievement and we hope that this award will inspire everyone involved for an even greater success in our Great Sport in the future.

Graciously,
David Richardson
Chief Executive”
